About Lex

Bankruptcy lawyer Lex Rogerson is a sole practitioner in Lexington, South Carolina.  He has been representing consumers in bankruptcy cases for over 25 years.

Lex attended public schools in Columbia.  He graduated from Yale University and obtained his law degree from the University of South Carolina.

After working for a state agency and as a public defender, Lex opened his own law office in Lexington in 1984.  Early on he had a varied litigation practice and has been lead counsel in cases decided by the South Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Lex has been named attorney of the year by the Pro Bono Committee of the state bar.  He received a commendation for public service from the South Carolina Supreme Court.  In 2006, the Bankruptcy Law Association awarded him the William Robinson Public Service Award.

Lex and his wife Shirley have two adult daughters.  Outside the office, he enjoys backpacking, hunting, and nature.  He plays catcher in a senior men’s baseball league in Columbia.
